Outfit / A White T-Shirt & A Pair of Blue Jeans
The summer colours, blue and white are synonymous with the colours of Greece. The big blue Mediterranean ocean that sparkles and glitters like a sea of disco balls, contrasts so perfectly against the heat-reflective smooth surfaces of alabaster hillside homes, often balancing precariously on the cliff edge. These colours are fresh, classic and modern in the same breath and as I realised after reading Kate Finnigans lovely, honest piece on Telegraph Fashion over the weekend, worn in endless ways some of us never imagined acceptable.
Black jeans are rough, hard and very cool. Blue jeans are softer, girl-next-door. A white t-shirt is painfully simple, yet in the same sense, painfully stylish. A clean white t-shirt and a good pair of blue jeans was born in the mid-1800’s yet doesn’t look a day over 1851. Jane Birkin rocked it in the 70’s, Cindy Crawford rocked it in the 80’s, Claudia Schiffer in the 90’s, Kate Moss in the 00’s and Rosie in the 10’s, which means I don’t need to tell you all this, these girls say it all.
