Facial Dressing

Since September when our friend Daria graced the cover of Vogue wearing a nose ring, it created a few waves within the fash world, bringing the nose ring immediately back as a micro-trend, which sits quite comfortably within the Hedi-Slimane punk trend for AW14. Its no revolution though – people have had their noses decorated and embellished for decades, notably in the Middle East pre-16th Century and in India post-16th-century, often as a sign of marriage. And remember Lisa Bonet from The Cosby Show? She rocked the nose ring like no one else. As a Western, trend its more about how it looks, about which style you follow, what influences you and personally, I’m becoming more and more obsessed. We used a nose ring at a photoshoot earlier in the week and I loved the way it looked – it unexpectedly worked so well with the story we were working on and got me searching the Internet for more influences and inspiration. So the next question is…
