Hello. I’m Victoria, the one behind Feathers & Frills.

I love fashion, styling and stylists, photography, magazines, street style, Parisian style, simple chic….the list goes on. If its wearable, its likely I’ll love it and find some way of wearing it. Having never officially worked in fashion, I strongly believe in the sentiment ‘ it’s never too late’ and that’s why I started this blog. I wish I had the head I have on my shoulders now, ten years ago, but there’s no changing that and I know that I’ll feel the same in ten years time too. I also believe in the sentiment that working hard pays off. Honestly speaking, I worked hard during the first ten years of my career since leaving University, however the way I feel about my blog, I’ve never felt about anything. I feel full of positivity, passion and adrenalin most days when I think about it and sit at my desk writing.

I’ve always had a creative part of me, whether that be painting, paper craft, web design, photography. I studied a degree in design at Nottingham Trent University which nurtured and helped guide my creativity and this has definitely helped me along with my blog, as I don’t have to rely on anyone but myself to achieve what I want, in terms of artwork/imagery. It’s amazing what transferrable skills we pick up along the way.

I have dreams and ambitions, but I also do my best to enjoy what’s happening today. No one is mortal (apart from Edward Cullen) and one of the benefits of getting older is knowing just that. I want to make the most of every minute (except when I’m cleaning which is more mundane than the most mundane thing). I have two children and its so easy to wish their time away, something I try to prevent myself from doing, and that includes moaning about getting up in the night for their needs (that’s not to say I don’t moan!)

We never know what’s around the corner, and it may be a clichee, but we are all in control of our destiny. If you work hard, it pays off. Dreams can come true.
